GATEWAY WRITING PROJECT - YOUTH WRITING PROGRAMS

At the Gateway Writing Project, we aim to support youth in developing their writing identities. We infuse play, place-based writing, and publishing into our events to engage and celebrate young people's creativity. Liking writing is not a prerequisite for attending our events, and we design our programming to encourage participants to explore, take risks, and see writing as something that is accessible and fun. Our work was recently featured by UMSL.

THE GATEWAY WRITING PROJECT

Gateway Writing Project (GWP) is an organization of, by, and for teachers. We strive to impact student writing abilities by improving the teaching and learning of writing. We do this by providing professional learning experiences for classroom teachers, supporting teachers' own writing, providing youth writing programs, and promoting teacher leadership in the profession.
